Reviving my FD
My name Andrew,33-I fell in love with that Rotary sound and power since I was a kid . My moms first car was a FB my dad owned many Rx2, Rx3 and a Rx3 wagon….
I have a 94 FDR2. I bought it in 09’. Ran it as a daily til 2012 when I Had a family and the car has sat since. I turned it on last in 2014.
I want to get the car running again now that my kids are bigger, would I need to rebuild the engine? All input would help.

I would start by cleaning out the fuel system entirely, replace all the fluids, spark plugs, get the injectors cleaned, maybe test the coils, and probably a few other things I'm forgetting that others can add. Then try starting it and see how it goes. No reason to rebuild it right away if you don't have to.
Welcome to the forum! As stated above, clean the fuel system first, replace all consumable/"tune up" parts, fluids etc. Check tonsee if you have adequate spark, check for rodent nests and chewed wires etc. These cars will come to life rather quickly when everything is right, even when they've been sitting. Would love to see pictures of the car!

Cars At my moms house currently.
I can certainly understand the temptation to jump in and turn the key, but "baby steps" is the best approach right now. First thing I'd do is put a teaspoon of oil, preferably 2-stroke, in one of the plug holes per rotor housing. Then crank it over by hand a few turns to get a feel if the compression is consistent and even vs skipping. The oil is to lubricate the apex seals and loosen them in case things got a bit rusty inside. Once you've established that it turns over freely with no nasty surprises, then tackle tune up items like fresh spark plugs/wires, fuel filter, etc.
How long has the coolant been sitting in there? I hate to be a downer, but 10 years with the same coolant sitting stagnant sounds like corrosion will be a factor. Try removing the radiator cap and getting a picture. That will give you an idea of what's lurking inside the shortblock.
