Re-igniting my interest in the Rotary
Hello all,
I've recently purchased an 88’ NA. I had an 87’ NA about 15 years ago and always kicked myself for parting with it but the engine had lost compression and I couldn’t afford to tear it down at the time. All I kept was the rear spoiler I’d installed with the intent to one day mount it on another FC. I had also installed a TII hood for weight reduction and sheer coolness factor but it had to go with the car or I would still have t too. It was a pretty base model FC (hand crank windows and 4bolt phone dials) but my 88’ has a few more creature comforts. It’s had a recent do it yourself paint job, the wheels are changed and all the badging has been removed so I’m not 100% what trim level it is GXL maybe. It’s gonna need at the very least, some tuning and vacuum leaks repaired (runs quite rich and quite sluggish acceleration) and a minor coolant leak fixed before it’ll be a driver but I’m looking forward to getting back to tinkering on a rotary again. Did all 88’s come with the S5 steering wheel, shifter, adjustable sport suspension etc? Or just the later models in that production year? Either way, I was happy to see these advancements in my latest S4.
I’ll end my introduction with a pic or two if I can figure out how to attach them haha.
Im looking forward to learning from many or you rotary guru’s as I dive back in to them once again.
The day I brought her home to meet the family.

Thanks, WJM
I'm actually not sure I was ever a member on this forum. I lived in British Columbia with my 87’ and was quite active on the BCRotary forum but not this one.
Now I'm older and wiser and decided to join the worlds largest RX7 club with my 88’.
😁
