power steering?

My name is Paul Spears, i live in Bella Vista Ar. i do not own an rx7, but someone
asked me today if i could put power steering on their 1985 rx7 GS.
Was power steering an option on these cars? if so, what parts and from what
years can i find the parts needed to do the conversion? do any other Mazdas have
parts that will work?

i have no experience with these cars, i need all the help i can get.
thank you

sounds like lots of fabricating work. best bet is to pick up a chiltons manual and see where you need to cut / mount everything.

Uhhh what.

PS is on many rx7s(including mine)

All you need is a PS steering rack and a PS pump. Im sure it wont be that hard to do.

Check the parts for sale section of the board or put up a want to buy thread and im sure someone on here who is getting rid of their PS would love to sell you there old stuff.

And you could sell the manual steering rack to a lot of people because a lot of us ditch the PS and would like one of them.

Edit: Oh its an FB i thought you said 86 not 85. Well **** i dont really know about 1st gens, im pretty sure they had power steering
