whats up. gettin a rx7 tomorrow. used to have two FCs, about 5 years ago, an 86 and a 87.

this one im pickin up is basically a roller. engine is blown, and interior is stripped.

so the motor isnt blown. the water pump housing bracket on the front cover broke and the PO had it welded.

i think im still gonna pull it and rebuild. the odometer says 190k so i should do it while some parts are still good.

What sort of mods are you planning on doing to it?

 

Thanks mr steve. As far as mods, I'm thinking only bolt ons. I wanna keep it n/a. My buddy is trying to talk me into a mild street port while I got it apart, but I gotta do a little more research on that.

The car already has a custom exhaust system all the way to the stock brick header/down pipe. Probably get a RB header and a true cold air.

It's got the 5 lug with LSD so that's a plus. Not sure if it works yet. Planning on swapping the innards with a miata torson LSD anyways.

It's on a body kit, but stock suspension, so I'm thinking I'm gonna go tokiko blues with tien s type springs.

Wheels, I wanna get some work meisters, but theyre a little out of my budget. So I'm sure I'll end up going with rotas. I'm def looking for a lot of offset, something 5 spoke.

Yeah the only thing that's stopping me now is money. Need 1200 for Atkins full rebuild kit. Then that'll get the ball Rollin. Till then I'll jus sit outside and stare at it.

 

Got the engine ready pull. gonna do it this weekend. i think im gonna start a build thread.

 

Was thinking about rebuilding the n/a. But a complete jdm 13b turbo is only a few hundred more than a rebuild. Was gonna pull motor today but decide to work on brakes first. There were no brakes on the car at all. It came with a set of 4 piston calipers and a set of 1 piston.

I bought all new rotors and pads. The rear is on and complete but kragen o'sheiza gave me the wrong front pads. They had to get the right ones sent from the warehouse and they should be here within the next hour. Till then I'm at a stand still

I'll probably end up pulling motor tomorrow.
