7'' fc lsd
Howdy all,
Last year I was running a 7'' FC LSD on a mazda miata I'm tasked with wrenching on. At one point the pinion gear siezed. Lacking the tools to free the pinion from the housing I took it to a shop which did.
Long story short my parts ended up getting stolen so now I'm on the hunt for a solution.
I currently still have the axles and hubs for the LSD assembly, and I have a full 7'' NON-LSD unit with stubs and axles.
My question to you all is this: What are my options as far as getting LSD internals into the unit I have?
Which of these:
Use the 7'' housing? All but the turbo II?
And is there anywhere online I can order the parts directly, or am I goin' part pickin'?
Thank you!

Did my 2nd Gen RX-7 come with a Limited Slip Differential?
Only the following USA model 2nd gen RX-7s had a LSD from the factory:
86-88 GXL
87-91 Turbo
88 GTU
89-90 GTUs (however not the 89-90 GTU

If you accumulate sufficient Post count, then you can use the For Sale Section and post a Thread and ask for a USED LSD.(** best bet and cheap!)
You can't fit TII internals into a N/A if that is what you are thinking.
I have heard of a TII diff with N/A Axles lately..they elongate the stud holes at the Half shafts to fit,The CUP of the Axle keeps it straight(aligned). You would have to make or customize a driveshaft too.(different pinion flange)
I am a little leary of this setup though and don't want to say 100% that it will work.
You should be able to fit say a KAAZ Unit into the Housing..a 1.5 or 2 way LSD ,but then you are looking at 1000 bucks to do it.

Yep. I think I just hit 5 so off the the classifieds for me!
Budget is a big deal, and very tight, so no kaaz but I did try to find some used units. No dice.
I had a tII diff but just sold it a few weeks ago, unfortunately.
Thanks!
