nissan guy

Hey whats up, Im new to the rotary world, but not new to cars. Ive had a beat up fc for a little while, was keeping it to turn it into a drift/track ****, but when my s13 was stolen on sunday, I through it together quickly for a temp daily.
Im kinda done with the s13 for now, seeing as i was pretty much at a point, suspension wise and power wise, that I was satisfied just before it got taken. So now im looking at picking up a cleaner fc chassis to work with, put some sort of motor into it, not quite decided yet.
Im thinking either dropping an sr20 in it, since I know that motor inside and out, or going the traditional tII swap, or maybe fd swap. But thats why Im here, to look around and learn some things

welcome, try a turbo rotary engine before you start thinking about putting in a piston engine

Rebuild a 13B TII, street port it, do the other necessary upgrades and you will have one serious monster. All for the price of a 13B REW. Thats what I'm doin. Give me a year and you will see... Man I can't wait til the day I can start my build thread... You will all bow to me, muah ha ha!!!!

how beat is your FC? From AZ I'd assume it's not rusty...

Parts are easy to get on this forum, check out the classifieds, they're awesome

FC's are fun cars, if you keep it n/a it'll be bulletproof reliable, or if you go turbo it'll be an assload of fun..

SR20's are good motors, not sure how easy the swap is, but the TII route will be equally rewarding and cheaper. Plus you'll learn new stuff. :P

I traded my skyline for an FD. I really like the feel and sound of the TT rotary. My brother has an FC and install the TII 13b and it really quick.

I had a hatch that was pretty built up, putting down about 350 wheel, however with this next car im not gonna go for that much power, lean more towards suspension and weight distribution.

The whole point of me thinking about an sr is because thats what was in my s13, built it from bottom up and tuned it, so i know pretty much everything about those motors. It would be me kinda not wanting to learn new stuff

Skylines are also heavier, and an fd is a much better chasis to work with. You speak french?

Welcome aboard. Sorry to hear about your S13. I'm a Nissan guy as well... might be slowly conforming to the Mazda side. Had a '71 240Z, '83 280ZX 60k miles, and a '84 300ZX Turbo 60k miles slightly modded, all very clean cars. I'd have to say since owning an FC, it feels more like a sports car than the Z31 did even with the mild suspension upgrades I had on the Z31. I was very impressed with the Miata I had as well.

In regards to engine swap, mine has a Chevy 350, very fun, nice and torquey. SR20DET would be sweet but I think better for a Miata. I'd say just go TII.
