Hi there,

I'm excited to be on this forum as I have questions! I'm working on my son-in-law's 1988 RX7 convertible, non-turbo and manual. The engine's needs to be replaced. I'm a half decent mechanic and have done engine replacements before. So it's a new challenge for me but not a daunting one.
Apparently, there are two series within the second generation: series 4 for 86-88 and series 5 for 89-92. If I obtained a series 5 engine, what else would I need to make it run correctly? the computer? Or nothing to worry about?
Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Bill
