Newbie!!
Hey guys, newbie here to Rotary engines myself but not to the automotive game.
Ive previously owned alot of mitsubishi vehicles, mainl 3000GT/Stealths and DSMs.
I used to be a technician for BMW/Mini and even ferrari shortly after.
Just thought id drop by and introduce myself!

Yes, actually seriously toying with the idea of an FD rx7. Always thought it was a stunning/sleek sexy car but the rotary engine didn't intrest me much. However, I've done my fair share of research on them and they seem no more un-reliable than a dsm/3000gt if cared for.
Its all in the upkeep/maintinence though.
Anyhow, anything in particular i should look out for on FDs?
Ive seen the warnings for obviously low compression on rotors, scratchy 5th gear synchro, bad paint on 93s ect.
Im mainly looking for one thats bone stock or has full exhaust and has a rebuilt engine with lower miles on the chassis so i can get some life out of the car without having to do any MAJOR overhaul or anything. Like anyone else im picky about interiors and paint being nice which i dont think should be much of an issue finding but who knows...
On the 3000gt platform if the motor hit the 120k service mark it was time to do the entire timing belt/water pump, valve stem seals (24 of them), oil pump and all bearings (main/rods/thrust) just to keep the motor going since they have a bad rep for spinning rod/main bearings and low oil pressure. Maintinence like this is no biggie for me and im used to stuff like that, but... it is a different ball game being that its a rotary engine.
Anyhow, any wise tips for a new-guy?
edit: Few snapshots of my previous money pit.
Dyno'd 480 Awhp with 25 psi and some race gas using stock intercoolers/piping and motor/trans had 3"downpipe without cats and a stock catback exhaust with just fuel control (no timing control) and 550cc injectors. Needless to say there was room for improvement in a few departments that could have pushed that well over 500 awhp mark.
