PA Newbie

Hey guys. I'm Jamie. I live in west chester, pa. I drive a Toyota mr2 turbo and a Nissan s13 240sx coupe. I've always loved rx7s and I'm thinking of picking one up in the near future. Figured I'd join, learn some stuff, and say hi.

Well then, hi Jamie!

Welcome aboard and I hope your next vehicle you pick up is an RX-7!

Here are a few shots on my mr2 and my 240. The 240 is a project that I recently picked up for 600 bucks, so give it a break

Well, you can't beat the price, especially if it actually came with a working engine!

Fix it up...then sell it to get the $$$ for the RX-7....

Hello Jamie,
welcome to the club, my brother in law had a nice 88 mr2 until a Avalanche drove over its hood turning left through a red light. The car was totaled and he had just rebuilt the engine too

Welcome to the club.
There aren't any rotary specialists worthwhile in this immediate area, and very few backyard mechanics who know what they're doing. Just be careful with what you get and who you take it to for work.

What do you plan on getting? My first assumption is you want an FD. Every new member wants an FD. But you have the live for the MR2 and 240, so maybe you want a TII?

I think FDs are beautiful cars. I fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. However, I wouldn't be opposed to an FC.
Or maybe I should just stick with a jetta like half the other girls in this world

heyyy now, no need for such terrible blasphemy! Granted, I'll be the very first to be up front and tell any new person that the RX-7 is not for everyone, but the fact that you are willing to come here and try to learn about the car before diving in head first tells me that you're a better fit for an RX-7 than a lot of people who are here already.

Just keep in mind, the RX-7 is a car that anyone can buy, but few can keep. Do your research, be careful about asking questions, and try to be objective as best you can. They are great cars, tons of fun, but can be very expensive to keep the wheels moving.

haha i'm kidding, i was told to "stick to a jetta" by a guy last year and it's been a running joke with my friends and I.
My guy friend's brother has a built FC, and my friend is an rx7 enthusiast, so I've learned a fair amount about them just from him. However, it's always a good idea to learn about a car before buying it, especially a car that isn't a "traditional" motor. I'm used to dumping ridiculous amounts of money into cars, and I know how pricey it can be to keep modded cars up and running well.
I'm always up for learning new things

p.s. you're an eagles fan? i have season tickets.

what you know about my sick whip

i most definitely will post pictures! I'll also keep anyone who cares updated on the progress of my mr2. I just bought 800 cc injectors (which means a retune but whatever). I'm shooting for 500 whp in that car. It's at around 375 right now.

Nice Jetta, but it doesn't got anything on my 95PGT

To be fair, your MR2 is a lot nicer on the outside than my FD is. Gotta give a woman props on that one.

Props on the MR2. As for the 240, might as well sell it for an FD. Since you will already be fixing something up.

thanks i bought it because the body is so clean. it's 17 years old so obviously the paint isn't perfect, but it's pretty close. the interior is beautiful too.

we'll see about selling the 240. the parts are cheap for it, and its easy to work on. plus, i plan on having a small fleet of cars lol.

haven't heard haggard used in a long time lol. Gotta start that up again lol.

very nice mr 2.

fd's are fun, but ungodly expensive to get and maintain..... well at least compared to other cars.
