Newb w/ oil cooler question

Hi folks I have an 85 GSL SE, that has a cracked oil cooler

. Any suggestions on to go with an aftermarket or with an original oil cooler.

i might recommend something a little newer.. my logic tells me after 25 years there is bound to be better engineering and materials available... but it may come down to price as the deciding fatcor..

would it be ok to have the oil cooler retapped, welded and pressure tested?
