TX Newb

Hi
I had an 85 GSL years ago and my mother had an old yellow rx 3 when I was young. I have always loved the wankle motors and as an engineer i find them fascinating. I don't currently have a mazda but I am doing a restomod Datsun Roadster that is the combination of three parts cars, a little Miata, and the rear end of a 85 GSL-SE. I'm hoping to do a full back to stock resto of an GSL-SE in the future.

Cheers

Matthew

Nice. An old Datsun 2000? I always thought those were cool little cars.

You oughtta put the engine from the GSL-SE in too.

Well to give a bit of back ground on the roadster, it a 69-ish 1600. the ish part is that the frame is from 68 the front clip (fenders and apron) are from a 69 and the body tub is from a 70. The motor going in is a KA24DE (98 240sx) with a t25 turbo, I seriously thought about doing the rotory swap, as well as other engines, but got the KA as it was there and easy. There has been some who have done the rotory swap into the roadster though, and they are sweet. Im sure I will be poking around this forum as I begin the rebuild of the LSD in the gsl-se rear end. If you would like to see my build I'm on 311s.org and my build thread is "Going KA...No BEAMS...yet"

Cheers
Matthew
