I just bought a 89 GTU (red of course) with 97K for $3K. Seemed like a good deal to me as it ran and passed TX state inspection. I always wanted one since they came out in 78.
I love the car, but it has 18 years of use by a doctor who never did anything to except change the oil and wash it. All the rubber needs to be replaced under the hood and the brake system.

My question is this:
There is no electric fan on the radiator, but the parts manual shows one. Did the M/T model come with one? Do I need it?

On some of the FC's came with the fan some didn't, it was a add on.

Thanks for the info. I think I have seen you all meet at the Picnic loop at Memorial. Where are all the RX-7's in the junkyard? Mazmart on Little York is kind of expensive.

 

Most of the Rx7's have been raided in junkyards, the best thing if you are looking for a 7 is come to a meeting and talk to other owners. There is allways someone selling a 7 or a roller, or hell even parts.

new owner here as well. throwing it all together.
purchased for 500, needs just body and interior. engine has a fresh rebuild and can be confirmed by running strong, and an absolutely clean engine bay.
I'd eat out of that **** haha =]
