GA New member, old guy, son is Navy with new '92 RX-7

Hello all, long time lover of the RX-7 here, and our oldest son just bought one in Japan. His dream car as he puts it. The car is now at GLOW in Tokyo getting revamped, but already has a ton of upgrades. I am hoping that some of you can help us identify some of the parts. Thanks!!

Welcome to the forum! If you make your way over to the 3rd gen section, those guys there would definitely be very helpful in identifying the parts in question!

Welcome. What parts are you looking to identify? From the pics shown, I can see:
Mazdaspeed A-Spec Type II front bumper (rare)
ARC standard SMIC (slightly rare, but not as rare/desirable as the "Race" version)
Apexi intakes (pretty common)
HKS hard piping (slightly less common than the Apexi intakes)
RMagic engine dampener (debatable if necessary on these cars)
It KINDA looks like an RE-A RE SuperG oil cap hiding under the strut bar, but can't tell for sure.

Thank you, mostly I didn't know what the ARC part was. Looks like it is a high priced unit! Glad he doesn't have to buy it. After the maintenance stuff he will be looking to bridge port, etc. but I told him that we need to see what kind of power the cars makes with the current mods. No need to over power your first FD IMO.

Welcome to the club. Something to keep in mind is that there's a number of differences between North American FDs and Japanese ones for 92-95, including the "yearly changes" introduced in July 1993 and July 1994 respectively. If you'd like to send me the VIN, I can run a Build Sheet on it to pin it down to the day it was built, and the equipment/specs that it left the factory with.

A good example of region-specific equipment is the Catalyst Amplifier, it was only on Japanese FDs and is wired between the Catalyst Thermo Sensor and ECU. North American ones have the sensor go straight to the ECU. 96+ is a different animal in its own rights, but that's a story for another day.

The good news is that I'm putting together a Wiring Diagram Bible that covers EVERY JAPANESE FD and it makes the differences considerably easier to understand.
