NE New member has questions`

Hello I'm Dave Zichek and I became a member to pick your brains about the Mazda rotary engine, which to me appears to be a compact robust and powerful engine I plan on using in my experimental Mustang II aircraft.

What I need to know is it possible to get 300hp out of a 12A Mazda using two large turbo's and replacing the apex seal with that out of a 13B turbo?

You might want to check these guys out for apex seals.

Well, I know you can get an easy 300 rwhp on the 13b with a decent sized turbo. You can probably get that number out of a 12A but there are fewer and fewer 12As out there. I'd probably go and use a 13B with a turbo and fuel injection.

Normally aspirated, you can easily get around that 300 crank HP level from a 3 rotor / 20B.

why not 13b?

It would be a lot easier to find a 13b for cheaper and be able to get the parts and power out of it than the 12a, but I'm not sure what the limitations are for an aircraft engine.

12A/13B for experimental AC

The biggest concern is weight that is why a 12A or 13B turbo is appealing you can get the power of a Lycoming IO 540 with the weight of an IO 360 by the way what would be the typical rpm of a 12A/13B twin turbo producing 300HP?
thanks Dave Z
