New Member Check-In
I've had my 87 TII for about a year now, but I'm ashamed it's been sitting for the past six months. I'm a mechanic by profession, so it's very... very hard for me to find the inspiration (and tbh, some funds) to get the car back on the road.
Last time I drove it, I was going quite fast at 100% throttle, and lost one rotor. I was able to limp home in the car, and it hasn't started since. I purchased the car with bad water seals.
I'll be getting a reman engine for the car next week, and have it running again.
It's lightly modded with FLTA-2s, cage, 3" turbo back, and new oem mounts on the engine/tranny/diff.
The day I bought the car, after leaving the tag office, a truck drive on her cell phone pulled out in front of me and did quite a bit of damage. The damage check got me +$500 more than I paid for the car... so, as it stands now, I have absolutely no money in the car. I've purchased all the parts to fix the car minus a TII hood for $50 last week (bumper/fender/headlight assy.).
Here's the only picture I have of the car
BTW, paint is PPG Hot-Rod Black - from previous owner.

I figured that experince would be inspiration alone to get the car running the PPG Hot rod black paint is nice but meaby you might want to look into a Carbon Fiber type coating the car i have seen it on a few FC and FD but i think i would look allot better on the body of your 87 TII espesially if you put a bit of a wide body fenders on it and meaby some nice deep dish wheels.

Thanks for the comments guys!
I've been working on motorcycles for 6 years, only to start doing it as a profession four years ago. I spent a brief amount of time (~6 months) working at an auto repair shop, in between bike shops. I work in the custom bike industry and deal with high-price (~40K+) bikes. This, I feel, is my niche... However, I'm thinking about going back to school to gain education in the IT industry. I would be fine to do all car/bike work simply as a hobby at a more relaxed pace.
Inspiration, and time is very hard to come by for me, but this is really not the time or place. I've got so much going besides this car right now. Only recently have I begain to re-focus on this.
The paint was the previous owner's choice - I would have gone for a gloss black my self. There will be no wide-bodying of the fenders. As far as appearance, the only thing I'll be changing is the wheels, and that's pretty low on the list right now.
