Hi all, joined the fd family last year after many years of searching. Car is in very good condition overall and now that I have saved for engine upgrade, I am torn between single vs twin setup. I have @$15k to spend and only want to do it the right way with keeping mostly stock appearance. But budget is for engine and driveline (clutch mostly). When I began researching, I convinced myself twin was the only way to keep bottom end power. But I continue to read more about single turbos (in the 400hp range) with little to no lag. Single is more economical way to go, and not looking to shortcut, but keeping a twin is more about keeping integrity of what it was to begin with in tact. That’s why I’m here to hear for the folks who have “been there, done that” and learn more. I now think single is best path forward. But I do not know, help, please. Welcome that thing is very nice ineed !. The Twins can be used however for the amount of faff involved in the 1990s system I think 90% of people will agree a simple single set up is the way to go and I of course will agree. For the power you want a Borgwarner Efr 7670 will do everything and more. increased simplicity response and power. you will make 400 flywheel with ease on pump fuel with room for more if you wanted. There is also the benefit of if you get the itch to go for more power your really only a turbo upgrade away from 5-600 if your engine is built for it. I make a variety of kits aimed at street use and OEM plus fitment, true bolt on as I call it. Feel free to check them out I have quite a few in the US now.
