New here, my first rotor is a 20b N/A

Hi all

Name: David

Car: rx7 fc 86 with 20b N/A

I have always liked to sound AND concept of the wankel motor, and it is with great delight that i am finally able to own one.

I have already found a wealth of information on here which is greatly appreciated, and i havent had to ask anything...yet

oh i will for sure, she is my baby and i DONT want to break her, i am super pedantic and have spent many hours leaching the wealth of info on the forum already and try to use all the best gear etc. I am not even a horsepower freak, just want a strong motor (theres plenty of power anyway)

I love the sound, people just freeze frame and wonder wtf is THAT noise woohoo

Hmm..
Well dyno complete, a little disapointed, 250 HP at wheels 254.4 Nm torque.
BUT shes a new motor AND running a tiny exhaust by rotary standards 2.5 inch, plus using the stock intake manifold which aparently restricts hig end power which this motor is built for, she is max power @ 7300rpm.
We have a difficulty in NZ with regulations and exhaust noise too so atm shes street legal. Looking at a 3.5- 4" system but will have to go turboflow muffler(s) and will loose the delicious scream
I expect nearer 300HP and if i did everything maybe a 320-350, but wanna get her around the scene.
Besides i am more about reliability than HP till its Farked

Shes also running a bit lean in the centre housing so need to flow test the injectors.

I love the stares ....i'm such an attention seeker

I think the most NA power is 470HP from PP but totally not streetable.
I also think there is a 900HP NA running on alchohol?

I'll be happy with near to 300, and 250 is still heaps more than stock fc rx7 with oodles more torque for my sounds

~250 rwhp is about average for a stock non-ported 3 rotor running stock intake manifolds from what I have seen other dynos in the 20B section.

A street port and a 3" exhaust should help flow and get you up to the 300-325 RWHP range. Search in the 20B section to check out other's results with an NA motors.

This guy has done a lot of 20B NA development:

Thanks for the connects advice guys.
I have sent my injectors of to be flowed and cleaned etc yesterday to see if that is why the centre rotor is running leaner.
I hope it is an injector issue otherwise what else could it be?
Should get the results back before lunch today... keen for cruising this evening

Future mods (lol, when some more coin comes in, running low on funds soon) wide body kit and refresh panel and paint, tidy/deloom engine bay and polish bits and bobs, recarpet and recover seats (i want to keep things fairly stock).

I have a very nice Alpine stereo system arriving this afternoon so will begin mocking that up and start fabricating and drawing up details for fabrication.
