TN New guy from TN!

Name is Josh (as you can tell from my lovely username Facebook gave me here)

New to RX7 and rotary stuff, reason I came here was to learn about RX7s and what i need to look for when buying one

I go through cars like I change underwear, which is pretty well every Day!!!(yup!,new pair!)
I am currently driving a 99 F250 with 7.3L diesel 4x4 6 speed etc, etc, and its fun to drive a HUGE truck with some power... But I miss driving my little is300 and small mustang coupe foxbody cars, so I am researching some info so I can get a FD RX7, should be fun and different!

Im sure ill see you around the boards!

Don't buy an rx7 unless you're going to keep it and take care of it. Having an rx7 is like having a kid that needs lots of love.

Is that near Bristol?

thanks man! i have time and money, and if it breaks ill go out and buy something else to be honest and work on the rx7 until its either running again, or put an ls1 in it and all problems are solved.

So hopefully i can find a good deal on one that wont be a pile!

thanks guys! we will see you around the boards

Welcome. I'm in Knoxville and if you ever need any Fd stuff let me know. InVegas a few of them. There are several rotary shops in TN a good one has already been mentioned. However, installing an LSX motor won't solve all the other issues that come with 20 year old cars. If you want a nice car and don't want to do a restoration find a nice low mileage car with good maintenance or recent rebuild. The rotary isn't as fragile as most will lead you to believe. Just remember it is an old car and will likely need a lot of parts replaced/updated.

The fun part is rebuilding the rotary. IMO Dont install a engine in an FD that wasn't meant for it......it's just plain wrong. The rotary is the heart and soul of the FD. Good luck!

I live at Fort Campbell, cost me 25o$ for shipping I wasn't going to drive 4hrs there and 4hrs back so def worth it for me. Being military and deployment helps w cost for parts and maintenance.
