New guy - Some advice please
Hey guys and gals,
So im new here and I joined because I have wanted to get a 3rd gen Rx7 for a while now.
I do not know to much about cars so I was hoping I could get some tips.
I am not sure on how much I should be spending,
Do I buy a standard car or one already modified,
What kind of upkeep a car like this will need (first turbo'd car I would have owned)
I have seen a few threads where alot of engines have needed a rebuild, should I expect this and how much would it cost?
Thanks

Buy one as bone stock as possible. You want this to create your own dream! Not drive something already done.... Plus you "learn" the car on your own, which is a MUST for any FD owner.

i'm in a little bit of the same boat as you. I have some pretty good mechanical experience and i've owned a turbocharged car before. but i'm completely new to the rotary scene. but as far as learning how a turbocharged system works, it's farely simple.
from what i can tell about this forum there's plenty of great threads with how to's and info and stuff. i'll definitely be doing a lot of research.

Most basic sign of molestation on these cars are signs of oil seepage from either housing.. since the housings are made of aluminum and side plates are iron.. they have different expansion rates. Even small sweating can be a sign of overheatinng and abuss
