New guy in Austin

Bought my red 1993 rx7 about a month ago. I originally had a 2007 rx8 6 speed which I got rid of. Its need a little bit of work, the driver door seems to like bending keys, the factory ant my friend already broke(the idiot) but never got good signal. Cold weather it is idling high around 1500 rpms and also seems to way over shoot the set 8psi and nail 15 psi. Its running non sequential with greddy front mount ported engine with 3mm seals (previous owner did the work). No sun roof but has leather seats and cruise control (doesnt work). The radio harness is also butchered to hell and I am in the process of redoing the cabling for the radio to bypass the mess. Also looking at a braille/deka battery cause the current one is mounted in a box that even though partialy drilled down moves to much for my feeling of safety. Also the rotors are warped.

In all, its mostly minor stuff that needs to be fixed, but I am still loving this car. Suspension wise it has tien flex but I think it needs to be raise and or the fenders rolled with what ever wheels currently mounted on it . Exhaust hks down pipe, greddy mid pip and greddy exhaust . Stereo is cheap jvc unit with hd radio which doesnt work due to the butchered radio harness, and no idea about the front speakers they are yellow lol and the rears are clarion i found out when i striped the paneling out to check the power ant motor.

hello matt... funny i just realized how large the piping on the exhaust was. Google was saying the greddy system was 3 in but looking under the car no way in hell is that a 3 in system. Was the old greddy system larger?

I'm pretty sure there is no off the shelf 4in. exhaust systems.

my 93 :)

Just realize Ive never posted any pictures ^_^, owned this car since I think October, slowly fixing things here and there. Upgraded the headlights, moved the battery (previous owner had it trunk mounted, it broke) and various other things.

after getting the bi xenon projectors fitted into the housings, also learned that the headlight buckets are fiberglass reinforced so itchy time.

second time getting stranded in this car, woot for roadside service. heater hose developed a pin hole leak which caused it to spray all my coolant in a random parking lot.

miata battery test fitted, still need to do it properly but it works great so far.

its alot more cluttered then it looks, one day ill move things around and clean it up under the hood, but as is it all works. Most of the work was from a previous owner. The engine was rebuilt not long before i bought it, 3 mm seal in it large port balanced and alot of other little things. When attempting to get the ac fixed i found it still has the factory bov venting ... i knew i heard two bovs going off lol.

Had the same thing happen with my 88 FC with a pin hole leak in my heater hose, lost coolant, really sucked!

ugg, plenty of other things to spend money on, i found out there is a actuator in the door from a previous owner, so i just need to find where the wire goes and get a keyless system working. Probably after i fix the door handle and turbo seal leaks . Hoping some of my rx8 parts sell well, then I may look at getting a borgwarner efr unit

I did read that, wish mine looked that nice, right now its currently grounded to a bolt that was used for the speaker bracket. originally there was a engine to battery ground that ran from the front, but that was to short to reach the new location so i was just going to ground that wire to the rear on the other side. I'll make that look nicer once i finish the various other repairs. Probably clean up all the grounding points when i get free time.

I went with a miata battery due to the previous owners battery box shattering and throwing the battery around in the hatch, why i moved it to the bin.

Not exactly sure how you grounded it but just a heads up spend the time grounding it properly. Stable voltage effects more variables than most imagine.

Speaking of grounding, ground the fuel pump and or rewire properly while your at it.

Nice projectors

all my grounds are solid measured for resistance in the wire grounding to the body had the same resistance as grounding the cable directly to the engine.

fing handle... that why it wont open... it broke in the corner where the lever pushes down which was allowing the handle to move sideway in the hinge, time for a aluminum one lol

also bought a hks ignition unit off my friend, goes all the way to 15 psi without bogging now... still need to replace them due to a bad seal ~_~ borgwarner here i come.
