New RX7 Owner (Finally)
Hello all!
Long time lurker and, as of yesterday, finally a full fledged RX7 owner! She's a 1992 JDM Japan imported RHD RX7 red with black interior. Clean with 105k original miles. (don't judge her harshly for the missing headlight panel, the guy I bought her from was repainting it so I haven't reinstalled it yet!). I picked her up yesterday and my face hurts from smiling all the way home. Just wanted to share my joy with you all!
Thanks,
J

Did you import it through a company, or pick it up from somebody who did? Wondering what company you used if so. Hopefully many happy years of ownership in your future

Beautiful ride! I remember my first ride in an FD years ago, and driving one still brings that same smile back. Would love to see some interior and engine bay shots too.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the welcome! It was imported by the person I picked it up from. It was owned by a US military guy in Japan who brought it back with him when he came stateside. They went through all the paperwork to get a Colorado VIN and get it registered, etc. It runs rich so the guy couldn't get it to pass emissions here. That was his final burocratic straw - he decided to let it go.
My plan is to fully restore her, currently. Refinish the seats in leather (or faux leather for durability), swap out small pieces that are broken. Install a rear spoiler (OEM). You know, small things. The stereo is set to Japanese, so that's a problem. She came with a big box of misc parts. New rear view mirror, trim pieces, some suspension parts, a red Bride reclining seat (in good shape), and some other stuff I haven't identified yet For fun, here's a list of her installed parts I got from the previous owner and some pics:
Wheels: 17" AME staggered wheels, new tires
Engine: Re Amemia ECU, aluminum radiator, Re Amemia dolphin tail axle back exhaust, aftermarket CAT
Suspension: Blitz ZZ-R coilovers, KTS upper arms, KTS pillow tension rod and rear toe, Autoexe lower member brace, Re Amemia sway bar reinforcement, OEM front struts bar

Welcome to the forum!! That's one beautiful FD you have there!! It was nice to hear that all of the hard work getting the car here was done. The RHD models seem to be becoming more common here in the states and that's a good thing as the prices will drop slightly when that happens. Can't wait to see more pics of the car!
