New to the car scene

Hello everyone ! I'm Kio from France an for a while now, I am planing to purchase a RX7 FCS.

The thing is, as enthusiastic as I am, i'm a total car noob. And I head that rotary engines and RX7s in general require quite a lot of maintenance.
So I came to this forum in the hopes of learning more about cars and how to take good care of my soon to be RX7 !

Thanks !

Welcome! They don't require a ton of maintenance, but they do require an attentive owner that's willing to put time and money into them. Also, plan to do the majority of the work on the car yourself. You'll find that you will quickly drain your bank account if you are paying to have work done on the car.

Welcome to the forums, Kioki!

Same as you, I've owned a car before handed down to me from my parents, but the RX7 was really the first time I got to explore the ins and outs of being a car enthusiast. It's quite a learning experience! Make sure to do your due research and keep up with maintenance.

For me especially, I feel like having an FSM close has been the biggest learning experience. That and the threads in this forum. Great info in there about your car, depending on how close to stock it is.

Take some pictures of your "soon-to-be" car for us!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome !
I actually already purchased the car, but now i'm saving up to import it in France. (I bought it in Japan !)
I'm also thinking of making a engine rebuild in japan since they seem to have more qualified people to take care of Rotarys over there.

I'd be wary of having some shop in Japan rebuild it for you unless you know someone who vouches for them. Same goes for any shop imo
