I'm Scott from Montreal. Way back in '86, I bought my 1981 RX-7 GX (apparently the GX is the Canadian version of the GSL with the Leather Sport package). Over the years, I have sold this car twice and 5 years ago I bought it back for the 3rd and final time. The two buyers were friends of mine and for whatever reason, they very rarely drove the car when they owned it. The last owner of the car kept it licensed and started it from time to time, unil it was vandalized in his parking lot. When I went to see him and expressed an interest in buying it back, he told me that if it wasn't me buying it, he would send it to the crusher. So I had no choice, I just had to buy it back.

Over the last 5 years, I have been scouring the internet for parts, picked up a donor 81 GX in Ottawa, had it in to my local Mazda dealer for a couple of months (my original mechanic from back in the 80's is still there) for brakes, front-end, radiator, gas tank, carb rebuild, all fluids flushed and anything else that needed tending to. I'm now at the body work stage and will try to post some pics if anyone is interested. This is what it looked like when I bought it back 5 years ago.

How could I resist, 138k kms., never winter driven, 6 owner car, where I'm documented as three of those owners! How could I let her go to the crusher. Look, she's smiling at me!
