My first FD Rx7

Hey what's going on my name is Tony and I just purchased my first FD Rx7. Its a completely bone stock 1993 Rx7 with 63k original miles. Only downside (which really isn't a downside in my case) is that it is an auto.

My reason for getting the car was mainly to have a DD to get me to and from work when my DSM is down....which is a lot it seems.

I have been building on my DSM for about 4 years now. It would be easier to say what I haven't done to the car so lets say it still has the stock block and wiring harness in it haha. The car started its life as a Automatic Gst and I have since done an AWD 5spd swap to it. Overall its a very fun car to drive and I still have a few more things that need to be done before I will be satisfied with it.

Overall plans for the Rx7 are just a few cosmetic things. I do not plan on working on the motor unless I have to. I want to lower it a little bit and get a new set of rims. I was thinking 17x9 in the front and 17x10 in the back. I like the widened look that some of the body kits offer, but I prefer one with a stock appearing appeal. Shine auto will be getting a lot of my business in the next several months. I am kinda iffy on the 1999 spec front bumper. Not sure what it is, but something doesn't look right about it.

I look forward to learning everything that I can from these forums. Thanks!

Looks good. The 99 specs front end looks sort of fugly with the pig nose license plate bracket. I'd go with an aftermarket 99 front end instead.

Yea I have thought about that, but the more I see the the pre 99 bumper with an R1 lip...the more I am inclinded to stick with that. I have mild bumper sag/warpage so I will have to get another front bumper unless there is some sort of fix to that.

Another option that I am willing to entertain until I get new rims is getting spacers to have the stock rims sit flush with the body lines. Not Hella flush, but not sunken in like the stock ride sits.

Parts wishlist: Tein Flex Coilovers, Shine Feed Sideskirts/Sidesteps in FRP, Shine Re Street Style Diffuser, Shine Feed vented Hood, Downpipe and exhaust (undecided on brand, but leaning towards the JIC Magic TI one. IMO sounds the best and not high pitched)....and lastly a nice set of rims...color undecided as of now.

I am not interested in doing a lot of performance mods. My dsm is the project car. Can't do any more to that until I get this thing looking and driving how I want xD.

I just installed my R1 lip last night. I will be sure to post pics later tonight.

Hello,
the rim size that you have chosen, is the best size for me. I'm also on my rx7.
I hope the new rims are black again.
