TX Lurker now with an FC

Hello all. I've been registered for awhile, but I just picked up an 88 RX7 Monday. Looks to be a GTU, the car is complete, good paint. Hood has a small dent and paint scraped off, front bumper cover is cracked/broken on the bottom, and the rear wing is faded. Other than that, it looks to be fairly clean. 5-lug, 5spd, N/A, clean title, picked it up for $300, the guy put a "rebuilt" engine in it, and it has no compression. Friend of mine had a 91 longblock for his car, but he's doing an LS1 swap instead, so he gave me the rotary. I'm hoping to have it up and running this weekend, and I'll try and get some pics uploaded. I'm hoping I can get a little better gas mileage than my F150 or my Capri with the 306 in it.

Welcome aboard, Rob! That is an unusual collection of vehicles you've got there!

Thank you, Sir!! I do have some unusual tastes in vehicles.

I couldn't pass on the Capri a couple years ago, it's an original 5.0L 5spd vehicle, white with black interior. I gave the guy $550 for it, drove it up on the trailer, hauled it to my shop, pulled the engine, kept the RPM Air-Gap intake and headers, and sold that same engine for $500. So I'm only into that one for $50, right now. I've got a 306 I've been working on, budget build style. It should put down around 325-350 to the rear, once I get it finished and installed.

I picked up the truck when my 84 Z28 got nailed at an intersection. It was an LS1 6spd conversion. Parted it out, scrapped the car.

Now I have the RX-7 to drive every day I had an 86 many years ago, and it was a fun car. This one is in a LOT better shape than that one was. I'll be getting some pictures of it this afternoon. It hasn't been washed in about 2 years, it looks like, but overall it's pretty clean. I put the 17" tri-bars from my Capri on it to get it home .... They are probably staying. I like the way they look on it.
