CA LS1 FD here

Hey all my name is kyle and i drive a 93 rx7 with a ls1 swap

hope i don't get flamed too much haha

I've always loved the rx7 and when i had the opportunity to pick up one i just couldn't resist

im slowly getting her ready to pass the state REF inspection here in CA in order to be somg legal

this is proving to be quite the challenge though haha

Thanks for having me here, hope to get to know you guys better.

Welcome,

The LSX FD and even FC is an amazing car. Rotaries are interesting engines but can be problematic. Post up some pics of your car. who did the sawp?

I'll bet that is a BLAST to drive! I had a Pontiac Fiero years ago with a 350 SB in it and it would scoot. But I bet an FD with an LS1 is insane!

Yea the fd is a blast... I truely have never loved driving a car like I love driving the fd

I purchased the car from a local shop here in the bay area with the swap already done

I'm working with them closely to get the remainig bugs worked out

then I will be going to state Ref to see if I can manage to make her legal

Welcome! I think a roots supercharged V8 with t-56 6-speed would be a wicked fun setup in an FD....I love the rotary though! Lets see some pics of it =D

I wish I had the room for a super charger..maybe one day I'll go turbo but I'll need a new radiator setup to allow for more room in the engine bay

One day lol

The engine looks nice. Good luck with the ref. When I spoke to one at Skyline College, he said he'll be checking for codes on the ecu as well and wants as many stock (LS1 year) parts as possible, but that he doesn't care what's after the cat. Good luck!

the hood scoop was put in so the hood would clear the throttle body

im running on an older granny's subframe and the older ones had the engine sitting higher in the engine bay so some hood modification was necessary

most guys just "massage" the hood to fit and some (like me) need to cut the thing to make it all work

i really like the way the scoop turned out and i think it gives the car a really unique and aggressive look
