Long time in the making
Hello everyone! I have lurked for many years and didn't own a RX7 until just a few months ago. I am a Firefighter/ Paramedic from NE Ohio and it has been my dream to own an FD for 22 years, since well before I could drive. After many years of talking myself into buying one, and then being talked out of it by everyone saying they are unreliable and headaches to own and then repeating that cycle every couple years for a very long time, I finally decided that you only live once and to pull the trigger. I found a very clean '94 RHD R2 that was in Orlando that initially failed to sell on BaT and was eventually reposted on a facebook group. Pulled the trigger and after a very uncomfortable and scary 1,000 mile drive home I couldn't be happier. It only has 62k miles on it and has been very well maintained. Current mods include an Kansei KNP 18x9 +12 (rubs pretty bad), APEXI N1 EVO catback,Walbro 450Lph fuel pump, Banzai Racing starter, ACT XACT Streetlight flywheel and street/strip clutch, stainless braided brake/ clutch lines among other things . Future mods include HKS downpipe (Jet Hot 2000 coated), Fluidyne rad and the lower temp thermostat and fan switch, SMIC (gonna need some direction on this one), Sakebomb smart coil setup, Banzai transmission/differential/ oil pan braces, and Ohlins coilovers. Following this I'd take it to Banzai racing to install and tune with PFC. I'm on the fence about doing an intake since the engine bay looks brand new off the showroom floor but if I did it would either be the APEXI intake or if I can find some thoughts from people who've had the auto exe intake installed since its quite beautiful. No plans on body kits, I think the FD is beautiful as is but I have thought about doing the FEED style side skirts. I would like to do a couple track days a year but mostly just weekend driving and going to car shows. I'm really thankful to officially be a part of this community and look forward to learning from everyone and maybe even being able to have my own valuable input.
