Long term Datto 1200 project
Hi guys,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I thought I'd throw up some pics of my Datsun 1200 ute that I've owned for the last 15 years. I bought it with the intention of tuning it into a drag car one day. I ended up using it as a daily driver, and all but forgot about it for 10 years. I finally got to the stage where I could put some time and effort into it, only to have my father pass away. This led to the car sitting around for another 5 years.
This is where I am at right now, just doing bits and pieces as I go...
Setup is pretty normal at this stage.
- Ladder bar rear end
- 26x8.5" rears
- 5-stud conversion with coil over struts on front
- S5 13B BPT built by Jed
- Proboost SX368 turbo
- Gforce 101 clutchless
- Running E85
Those are the main ingredients so far, but at this stage I'm working on a trans tunnel, making up a turbo manifold, and adapting an FD upper intake manifold for more firewall clearance/better looks/better performance. I plan on starting small and working my way up as I get used to the car, and get some reliability out of it.
Always keen to see other dattos out there!

If anyone has an FD upper intake plenum and throttle body for sale, please let me know. Also, toying with the idea of running methanol, but need a Ron's mechanical fuel pump! Thanks.
