I have been posting for a few months now but never wrote an introduction. Name's Jim, live in PA, and have our second RX-7. First was an 82 GS that we drove until it rusted out and the motor blew. Current is an 85 GSL-SE that had numerous running issues. It was fun tracing these down with the forum's help. Almost finished and starting to drive daily to work.

So far:
Coil wiring mixed up.
Bad leading ignitor.
Crumbling O2 sensor.
Thermo wax not opening the secondary butterflies above 140 degrees.
5 and 6 ports stuck closed.

Good news is there is only some slight surface rust and the interior is very nice. My plan is to never drive on salted roads, which covers about 4 months of the year.

Plans for the car are to find the oil leak (I think it's the metering pump) clean the engine compartment, replace or repair a leaking gas tank (leaks when topped off and parked on a hill) replace several cosmetic plastic pieces, possibly install a short shifter and finally have the surface rust fixed and possible repaint.
