MN Just got my new RX-7

Hay, my name is Rob and I am from Minnesota(Around Elk River area). I just got my 1985 RX-7 (12a). I just got done doing the simple things to get it ready for winter and getting the the stuff that was wrong with it fixed. I know not the greatest car for winter, but I am going to try and grit my teeth and get through it. I have done Oil change(5w-20), Air Filter, Anti freeze, sea foamed the he|| out of it, e-brake, tires, vacuum hoses(they where hard), and I am just working on getting the rust removed(bottom rust). I am also repainting trim right now. Other then that if any one that own an rx-7 or something close or you just want to meet up let me know. I am totally new to car let alone rotary.

Hey there, I'm also from Minnesota and I am also planning on driving my newly found 84 RX7 GS in the winter too. Would love to keep in touch with you to see how it goes!

That is one nice looking car. How much did you get it for if you don't mind me asking? And how much rust do you have on the skirts?

MN thank you

lindahlish- yea, we should keep in touch. I also have another friend that is getting an rx7 second gen I think.

As for how much I got it for. I got it for 800 and there is bottom rust, but fixable. The skirts have a spot on each side that needs a patch.

Yeah Erifx, let's keep in touch. I don't think I'm going to drive mine in the winter if I can at all help it because we both know what these fricken Minnesota winters are like - rusting out cars in 12ft of snow accompanied by 12in of salty road slush with -20 temp and gotta get to work in 15 minutes - but we drive in it anyways! :]
