I may be young but I fell in love with a much older than I...
Hey guys, I am 20 owning a 26 year old car... I have had my car for 3 and a half years now but I was only ready to start about a year ago. The car was very beaten and rough when I got it (including 4 rot spots). It is an 86 RX7 GXL it is my baby and I am very proud of the work me and my father have done. This car has come a very long way from being purchased off of an uncaring previous owner who let it sit in a yard for years. I have completely restored the interior with a black 89 interior *just about all the parts where there* Threw in a few things to give it my own steez including an 85 steering wheel and beautiful car audio set up. For the exterior, I am lucky enough to have a father who does body work and he took care of me with that one. Its not perfect but I am not building a show car. This is my summer daily driver. The front and rear bumpers were replaced with 89 GTUs bumpers, along with all the moldings on the doors/fender/quarter. I made mounting brackets for OEM fog lamps housing 3000K H3 HIDs. The headlights were replaced with 6000K HIDs in a black projector housing. As much as the die hard 7 guys will be forced to hate me, I have unplugged the headlight motors and made it have sleepy eyes. Windows are tinted (all but the rear to be done tomorrow). The engine, tranny, drivetrain, suspension, and brakes are all stock... for now. The car is running really good, just attempting to tie up the loose ends (add coolant light, steering position indicator, small other stuff). I have already learned a lot from this site and I will always use this site first and foremost. thanks for reading and I will be posting some pictures for proof of my work once i resize them.

Really nice looking ride. Also in MA, and just bought a '86 myself. Might have to steal that cupholder idea since my center console is cracked and needs repair anyways. Where'd you get the replacement parts; interior pieces, s5 bumpers ..off the classifieds?

I actually had 3 parts cars (86.88.89) this is the hybrid of the best parts from all 3. If you need any parts for your car I have an entire gray s4(86-88) interior minus the rug!!! Because you're in mass I could always meet with you or something. But I have like 4 boxes of parts marked incase I want to use/sell them!
