CA Howdy howdy howdy

Well here I am, name's Jim and based here in California. It's been three years now since I sold my old S13 and have been looking to get back into the scene. I see Buttonwillow has a performance driving clinic coming up in December and I would like to build a little track car before then to attend. The budget is $5k total (College graduation present to myself). I have the opportunity to snag a rolling 87 NA FC chassis for the low cost of $500 (w/clean title) and have a couple buddies willing to add a helping hand bringing it back to life. Granted many of us have little to no rotary experience but have found many documentation (this site has incredible write ups, a local friendly Rotary shop named 7's only, and videos). What primarily concerns me, coming from a back ground of 240s I am not finding the same level of aftermarket support, yeah there's Mazdatrix and a couple others but it worries me that I might run into some trouble when trying to source out some aftermarket parts. I love the idea and challenge but would just like some friendly advice. Thanks in advance!

yeah im in the same boat. Buttonwillow is one of the main reasons i wanted to build an rx7. As far as parts mazdatrix and racing beat seem to be the big ones i hear about also. Kinda wishing they were a few more options but maybe some in the rest of the forum have some other ideas.
