Smile Heyy from south florida

Just bought myself an '88 turbo II a couple days ago. Wanted to get involved in a forum for some guidance and if needed, some parts I may be interested in buying.

Anywho, just an average college student wanting a cool daily. This one is the chosen one I suppose I could say lol. Engine is basically stock, from what I was told, the ports had been polished, not sure about any porting... runs great, pulls hard, and spools up real quick from when I drove it home after I had bought it. Definitely a different feeling from a piston motor.

When I bought the car, I knew what was needing some attention, so no surprises (except one). The paint is faded but original, sunroof is rusting up (got a new one from the previous owner) along with the rear hatch window (also gave me a new one with the car). The surprise was that there is water leaking onto the passenger side inside the car right under the glove box. Took out the gutter cover under the wipers and find out theres a ton of crap. Took a shop vac to it and found myself a rusted hole leading to the stuff under/behind the glove box. It'll get fixed asap and I won't be driving it unless I know for sure it won't rain (which is probably not very soon since I'm in south florida).

Anyway, onto the pictures!

Hey I noticed some water dripping in the car from under my glove compartment... dad gave the idea to check the little gutter under the windshield. Was clogged with leaves and stuff so we cleaned it up and found the problem. Definitely going to be a pain in my butt to fix this.

I saw the CL ad for the car a few days ago, the guy still has the ad up actually.
Nice find. I hope you can get the rust hole fixed easily.
If you aren't gonna do it yourself and you plan on having a shop do it, I know a guy who's not a thief and does good work.

Great group of guys down in S. FL. Come hang out in the SE Section of the forum. I believe that hole should be covered by a piece of some sort (there is one on the FDs). Been forever since I've had an FC but you should be able to get one from a junkyard for like buck if it is.

Could you PM me the name of his shop? That would be cool.

Yeah for sure. I have the rubber plug that goes on the black metal piece in the first picture where I doodled "under here"... it's inside that has the rusted hole.

Oh, and Karloz, thanks a ton for sending me over to Cruz. He's a great guy and I'll be getting my stuff repaired this week. Finally I'll be able to daily this machine! Paint will come later on when I rack up some more money. I'll make a new thread for updates on the car.
