Hey, im a NEWB, be nice!
hey everyone, my name is ian, i go by SleepingTurbo on pretty much every other forum.
i live in chicago, near peterson and cicero, im 18, go to school as an auto tech major in carbondale illinois, to southern illinois university.
my story is much like alot of others, maybe a little different. i bought a car right after my 16 birthday, it was a rough condition 1988 celica all trac, and i thought it was the ish.
i brought it home and sat for a couple weeks, as stuff was organized to make it into a sexy beast.
it was in the shop for about 2 1/2 years, until it came out sitting pretty in august 09.
and this is how it sits today, with a few choice mods, following pictures.
i had some trouble with the getting my turbo rebuilt after i blew it, but its going to done and running on monday. my major mods that are installed are:
Custom front mount intercooler and piping
modified Supra CT26 turbo with celica housings
vibrant intake and Maf adapter
custom exhaust
speed source inc shifter base and cable bushings(solid aluminum and brass)
prosport boost and AFR gauges, custom mounted and installed by me
super pro poly bushings(front control arms and sway bar)
OEM+ Clutch and Resurfaced and re-toothed flywheel(MR2 Teeth, tighter teeth)
ive also got some stuff waiting to go in:
HKS PFC FCON and FCD
Two's R Us Manual boost controlled
Bee*R Power Builder
OEM Radio
and some other small stuff
everything was redone, the car has no rust, alot of brand new suspensions components, and body panels and what not. the paint is pretty much flawless, and the car has relatively low miles, for a 22year old car, 131k isnt bad. just did some maintenance, like ignition stuff and oil change, but then my turbo went ka-boom. so its been sitting for a few weeks. nothing too bad though, should be done on monday like i said.
thats about it, any questions, please ask. and if it doesnt make sense as to why a celica owner is on an RX7 forum, allow me to explain.
im actually looking at stepping into an RX7, as ive had very much enough with my celica. but i may keep it. we shall see. so it is up for sale or trade, but ill save that for another post. thanks for looking.
