Hey! FC TII Owner in North AL

Thought i'd introduce myself, as i've been reading alot of the tech threads, and have been getting ready to either Rebuild my TII, or try the "carbon lock" tricks.

My name is Adam Burks, but i just go by Burks, I'm from HSV/AL, and have owned my fair share of RWD cars.

FC N/A
7MGTE MKIII Supra
AE86 Coupe 4age with a 4agze supercharger
S13 Hatch
86 Cressida
TII FC

I'm a big fan of anything to do with cars pretty much.. i use to do some AutoX/Drift up here in Huntsville, but that has been on hold for my search of something that i'd actually like to drive.

I bought my TII FC, for $1000 completely stock w/ title with what is thought to be "Carbon Lock", so before i tear down the engine and get some parts from atkinsrotary.com (which i don't know the reviews on that site) I thought i'd try the tricks of carbon lock.

So my Journey begins, I'll be on this forum in and out to read some of the tech forum's, and get some good information on the RX7 and the Rotary.

My plans for this car isn't dramatic, I've never had the chance of rebuilding an engine at all, We've always just did the pull old motor, replace with different motor, rinse/repeat. so hopefully the Rotary will treat me well. I want to make this a reliable Daily/AutoX/Drift car, maybe i should have said make this a "strong" daily/autox/drift car :P I want to swap the dark red interior for black, and maybe FD seats, the car's exterior is dark red, which i want to be painted Black or something different than red.

Thanks for all the good Information, and if anyone is in North Alabama, hit me up. we are about to start some cookouts when this stupid cold/hot weather goes away.

So i got some pictures of the day we went and picked it up, Apparently he changed out the Throw Out bearing, and that took him a month to: Get the Part, install it, and Try it out, But when he went to turn the car on, nothing happened.

he has documents that show the engine was rebuilt approx 75k miles ago by a mazda dealer in TX, turbo rebuild at the same time, with also a Transmission Rebuild. all documents from the previous owners, a very very well maintained car.

here are some pix of the 1987 TII RX7.
