idle

Hey everyone. I'm a new owner of . 1985 gs with a 12a. What's a healthy idle? When I choke it, it's around 2000 then idles around 1300-1600. Thanks!

The Factory Service Manual has some good information on this. The FSM can be downloaded here: Foxed.ca - Mazda RX-7 Manuals

Yep FSM has the hard numbers. Usually idle of a warmed up 12A is 750-850. When the choke is on
it can go up to 2500 I think.

My idle surges. It will sit. Then climb and I have to bring it back down on the carb
