Hello from Sydney. FD RX7 Running single Mamba GTX3584 =]

Hello all..

Been a long time browser of the forum. Have had an FD type RS previously and now currently own a RB-s 2002 rx7.

Not sure if anyone else has tried or is currently using a mamba turbo, but I thought I'd be the guinea pig and take a punt on a $1500AUD turbo.

For those curious.. It's been on the car now about 1500kms. Made 240kw or 320hp at the wheels @ 13psi, 98 octane RON premixed. Equivalent to 93 octane AKI I believe. This is with a JC racing EPA legal manifold (retains air pump) and using the factory airbox.
Engine is a rebuilt mild port OEM build. No dowels, studs, fancy seals etc. Previous owner did this and wanted OEM items... Tune is very conservative as the apex seals are unknown. Needless to say.. Car has had quite the abuse in 1500kms, so it's holding up better than I expected.

The turbo spec I purchased is the GTX3584 with 1.06 single entry rear housing (t04Z spec according to mamba). I see about 5psi @ 2500-2800rpm. Full 13psi by 3200rpm-3500rpm or thereabouts. This is with an electronic boost controller controlling a turbosmart 45MM wastegate with screamer. Internally the wastegate is running a single 6psi spring.

Car has ran 12.9 @ 110mph on the lower boost setting of 11psi. I ran the car on the stock wheels with cheapie nankang plastic tyres with 225/50... I tried to run on the 13psi setting but the tyres just gave up. Ran 13 flat @ 115mph.
