PA Hello from PA

Hey everyone

Im Mike Im from Scranton, PA I am currently in the middle of restoring an 85' rx-7 12a. The car is beautiful but in rough shape. The kid who owned it before me obviously didnt know anything about what he had and just left it sit, Painted it flat black with spray paint over the stock cherry red. Gutted the interior carpetting and door panels. Completely destroyed the interior. There is wiring everywhere!. So now its my baby and getting some TLC. GOING OUT OF MY MIND TRYING TO FIND PARTS~!!!!!

Mike, thanks for taking the time to register and welcome aboard...they seem insane but the selling and buying rules are pretty specific which is why I had to edit out the "WTB" language in the post above. Once you hit ten posts, and read how in Sgt Fox's rules for New Members posting, create your own "Looking for parts - 1stgen" ad in the Parts Wanted section...or you could mosey on over to the 1stgen parts section and use the search engine there to find who has what that you could buy.

The rules and the grueling process has effectively stopped spam, "****", and flat-out scamsters from entering the site, which more than justifies the drill. We're here to help and I personally love the fact that you saved another 1stgen RX-7 from being sent to the crusher! You'll get that rascal back in tip-top shape, you wait and see! And build! And polish!

thanks

Thanks mario. Sorry about that won't happen again. On a lighter note I'm In the process of trying to save another 1st gen. People around here are ridiculous and want nothing to do with good ol rotarys. Ill keep everyone updated with the process of both and hopefully not lose my hair trying to get them fixed lol

Geez...1stgen's just falling out of trees in PA, eh? Well grab that other one. The beauty of this generation of RX-7 is that they are so similar to the 60's musclecars in the simplicity of the overall design under the hood and in the wiring. You can still work on these cars w/o ever needing a code machine or resetting tool. Now, the darn Nikki carburetor can drive you nutz but there's several very, very good threads on it in the 1stgen tech board. Just input "Nikki" in the search engine and start reading up if that's something you have to tackle in the near future.

Hey Mike. Welcome! I can sympathize. I am restoring an 85' GSL and it can take me a month to find a part at a reasonable price. You'll find these people here are very helpful so don't be afraid to post in the "parts wanted" section when you can. Good luck with the restoration. Oh yeah and we all love pictures (just saying), lol

I live in Throop, and I saw this car parked just off of main street everyday. I think I teared a little everytime I went by. Great to know its getting some care.

Man, that just makes this whole thing better knowing you did get one that was wasting away.

Three cheers for Mike!
