My name is Matt, I’m 18 and I bought 1986 RX7 back when I was 16. I couldn’t tell you what trim but I’m guessing mid level since it’s 5 lug but not turbo. I don’t have much mechanical experience other than me having been enrolled in automotive class in high school. This is my first “project” car and even worse it was “modified” prior to me buying it so there’s all types of hack jobs and the previous owner just did everything half assed but the car is still relatively nice. But this is my dream car so that’s okay with me. I’m hoping to learn more and hopefully meet some cool FC owners. If there’s any FC guys in northern Ohio, would be great to meat you guys. Welcome to the club. You are wise to have a grain of salt as not all modifications are performed equally. Can you elaborate on what you believe to be a hack job done to the car? Some things are necessary to work properly, such as reversing the polarity of the antenna trigger signal on an aftermarket radio so it operates the factory antenna correctly.
It's got potential, and you're in the right place to make it shine.
