GA Hello Everybody!

My wife calls me "an old fart with a kid's heart", and all my friends just call me "O". I teach Automotive Technology at Gwinnett Technical College in Lawrenceville, Ga., and have always been curious of Mazda's application of DR. Wankel's vision. Got my hands on a 12A boat anchor and disassembled it just to see how it ticked. Pre-detonation is hell on apex seals and rotor/housings ain't it! But so impressed with the simplicity (and lack of reciprocation) I saved some of my allowance and bought an "87 TII basketcase to bring back to life. And who doesn't like the lines and styling of Mazda's sheetmetal? As an ASE Master Tech with over 30 years of scars, hard hearing, and poor eyesight experience, I'm looking for some folks in the area and on-line with whom I can share some of this same love of vintage Mazda sports cars. My lovely bride has the hots to "Foose" out her '69 Chevelle, so I've got to get my RX ready to run circles around that "old sled". Would love to hear from all of you about your experiences with the second gens., and your recommendations on how to shut down that mouth in the Chevelle. The O.

Welcome.

You can probably get started by reading the 2nd Gen FAQ thread in the stickies. Lots of good proven info archived there.

Thanx for making me feel welcome Gracer7. Definitely will read through FAQs. As a noob I'm not really sure what your signature is describing about your car. Would you help me understand? "O"

Hello Michael. Thanks for making me feel welcome. I notice you are using a
'74 block in your '84. Is there some advantage in the older block? "O"

thanx FC3S22585 and Minuteman7. I have been learing how to nav the site, and am amazed at the ammount of info on 2nd gens archived. I'll be reading through for days! After reading through many of the stickys and thread replies from a member "Icemark", and having seen the header " in memory of", has anyone posted a biographic tribute to him and his contributions to the club that I have overlooked? Only seems fitting that there would be a thread where we all could pay hommage to him. "O"

Hello anarchy187. Thanx for the welcome. How's everything going down your way? Got some friends at sub base in St, Marys a little east of ya. Just curious about the 187 in your handle there- a weight class maybe? "O"
