Apparently According to Paul at IRP they don't work like that anymore
I messaged Ihor on Facebook don't know if anything will happen

Since they are a reputable shop I trust them it is highly regarded for everyone.

I also find it odd that you had to pay so much up front. Typically a shop will just hold your car or put a mechanics lean on it if you do not pay for their services.

On top of that, the price seems a little steep for just a basic engine rebuild. If they have a good reputation and are the only option in your area then I understand.

Moving forward, it seems like they are holding off until you provide them the oil cooler and lines, correct? You could always buy an oem Mazda oil cooler and lines. Expensive but they are rock solid reliable and available. Worst case, buy them used from a car being parted due to low compression. If your 8 is an automatic, youll have one oil cooler and if it's a 6spd you'll have two.

Yes, I'm going to call Mazda today for OEM oil coolers.
I was under the impression that since I have a shop I don't need to do these leg work anymore
No, it's a basic engine rebuild plus some other stuff,
I'm fine with the price, I'm not fine with what they are doing
They have no regards for promises or anything else, I am without a car for 3 months and 11 days now and I can't wait anymore and don't know what to do

I messaged ihor on facebook, message shows read but didn't get a response either.
I'm beyond frustrated and sad.

Also, there is an issue with the fittings from the engine block to oil cooler lines as it was in shortage, it would require IR to modify the existing fittings, which maybe another reason for the delay

Update

I reached out to igor, and Paul reach out to me this morning and explained some of the misinformation and unfortunate coincidental I have with providing parts and the timeline. All of the confusion are cleared up now so hopefully, I should be able to get my car back soon. In short, they never promised me the time line and they were right, Paul did tell me the correction information. My car was already in the works.
A few weeks ago the oil cooler supplier marked my product as shipped, I ordered this way before the car went to IR and did not know there was an engine issue.
However I never got the oil cooler and since I informed Paul it was shipped, they sold the on-shelf unit to someone else
So it is entirely my fault,

Please the thread can be locked or deleted now.
