future fd owner

hello everyone. ive had an unhealthy attration to this car for a decade now, owned an fc a few years ago with severe previous owner neglect syndrom and had a really bad experience with it. but im ready to try again ... in about 2 years when i am back stateside. ill be looking for a clean, as close to stock as possible fd rx7 hopefully with complete service records and history. cant wait but i have no choice since me and my wife are here in germany until may 2014, plus ill be in afghanistan for the next year. anyways just introducing myself here, hope to learn a lot from everyone here.

I understand the attraction. Took me 10 years until I finally bought one.

check out the FAQ for good threads on the car

Yea i still have a long time to wait it feels like, ive wanted this car since i turned 16 but ive never been able to afford it. My first rx7 was an 89 gtu and i paid 1500 for it ... should have known when every other comparable rx7 was closer to 3000. A few weeks after i bought it the rear rotor went out on me. I pulled the engine and replaced the rear rotor and housing, as well as installed all new seals and gaskets throughout the engine including apex seals obviously. Taking that engine apart and putting it back together was so easy I was sure i did something wrong. After everything was done and the engine was reinstalled it ran but never ran right, I didnt take the time to make sure i put everything together properly. Anyways my next rx7 will not be my only vehicle so that wont happen again should i need to fix something on the car.

I too want an FD. I have been wanting one for the better part of 10 years as well. My goal is to have one by the end of summer. But it's finding just the right one to make it worth the purchase. Even willing to sacrifice my pristine 2006 Yamaha R1 with only 6400 miles on it for the FD.

I had the opposite situation! lol
Owned a FD 4 years ago and had bad experience with it (couldn't get it aircared!)
spent so much money trying to pass the emission in Canada.
Just bought a fc few days ago
