Former member with new account. And rx7 storage find
Hi guys I must say its good to be back after maybe 10 years(maybe? one of you (if you remember) may know me as my old account name Slidewaysfc (BTW ADMINS IF YOU CAN HELP ME ACCESS IT HMU ), I left the rotary life cause I got into motorcycle stunting, but I just had my first baby boy in June and quit the bike scene. I want him to grow up on rotary engines, so why not start now. Im glad to be back as I have found my perfect project car. A 1987 Rx7 turbo.
So after months of searching I came across a rx7 turbo 2 for 500 dollars up in Manteca, CA. I thought it was a fake ad, but still tried to reach the guy. after many attempts I finally got ahold of him and set up a date to go see and pick up the rx7 today 11/23/2019. 6 hour drive up from Ventura, CA and sure enough it was a t2 rx7 with 167,xxx miles and yes I got it for 500 dollars. Car had flats all over but I managed to load it on a trailer with the help of a friend. The body was in decent shape, dent on driver door, clear coat peelin etc, interior looked ok just super dirty. owner previously said engine was replaced but who knows, I wont till later this week. (compression test)
My plans for this car is to get it running first since its been sitting for 10 years, compression test and go from there, body wise im gonna keep it stock and just throw my old pbm coilovers on it. ill add pics of the car so you all can see it and I washed the car when I got home but its to dark to take a good pic so ill make an updated thread on the rx7 progress.
