Former airhead turned rotary nut.

Hiya! I've been lurking here for a few months since I got my first rotary early this year. I've owned over a dozen different cars in my short lifetime, most of which were older or vintage models, and some pretty unique. No, I'm not a collector. All these vehicles were at one period of time either my daily driver, or my only source of transportation. Life is too short to drive boring cars. I'm passionate with champagne taste on a beer budget, but I found that sometimes enough hard work can turn beer into champagne.

I grew up on air-cooled Volkswagens, and the only car that I regret selling was a 1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia. Turns out a type 1, 1600 dual port takes about the same amount of attention to maintenance as a 13b. That made getting used to the qurks on my rotary a fairly simple affair. Sure, I may need to swap out spark plugs every 6,000 mi, but at least I don't have to manually adjust valve clearances every other oil change!

It took me a long time to finally get my hands on an RX-7, but now that I have I feel like this is where I should have been the entire time. It's a smooth running car, with a wonderful sounding engine and a elegant method of operation. Thanks to all of you who have posted here, on more than one occasion, this forum has saved my bacon!
