Just picked up my first rotary. I've wanted a FB for 20 years. Unfortunately it was cursed with an automatic. But for the North East it was blessed with never seeing salt. I got it insanely cheap off of a very nice relative. Definitely planning on a manual swap, full exhaust to start.

It accelerates fine from a stop, but dogs bad from a yield from 2-4.5k rpm. Seems like a stuck float, so I plan to rebuild the Nikki carb, possibly switch to a Weber since I have a soft spot for them.

I'll be researching what year range is the best/easiest for a tranny swap then looking for a doner car. I know the pedal swap is the hardest part, but I'm a fun sized lass at 5'2" so that will be to my advantage.

Any advice is more than welcome. Thanks!

Glad to see the car is out of the garage and on the road. I would certainly rebuild the carburetor, replace the fuel filter, replace the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, belts, fluids etc. It looks like it will make an excellent driver! Would love to see more pictures of the car!

I've got enough drivers as it is. This is gonna stay on the road, but it's more something to toy around with. It was taken good care of and regularly maintained and started. But its due for a carb rebuild, got the parts on the way.
