WA New FB owner

Hey guys, my name is Warren. I'm new to the RX7 world. I've had a few friends with RX7s but never really thought I'd have one myself. Last weekend I picked up an '85 GSL with a Chevy 4.3L V6 and T5. The car is in pretty decent condition, but the swap itself is kind of a hack job. I plan on fixing it up a bit and using it as a weekend warrior to maybe drag and drift. I don't have many pictures yet, but once I get a few small things done with it and get it washed I'll be sure to post some.

4.3's are a bit heavy... I wonder why they didn't go with something that has an aluminum block, like a Lincoln Mark VIII engine or the more common Chevy LS1 swap. (LS engine swaps are all the rage these days...)

Interesting choice of engine though... I'd swap in a 13B once it starts misbehaving... At least swap in a differential from an auto car to make use of the power band.

Welcome. I am also interested about the engine choice. A bit of an odd choice.

Welcome. I also have a swapped engine. Except I have a lt1 from a 92 vett in a fc. I'll have to put some pics up too. It's sweet knowing I am not the only one. I see so much anti piston stuff on here.

Maybe it was one of those semi-popular "this is what i had sitting in the garage already" swaps

4.3 is like a v8 with 2 cylinders missing.
I'd be Ok with it personally in a car the size of an FB or FC.It would make for some sporty driving.

I'm new here to.. thought i might be alone on the swap thing, my 12 A made it to 202kmiles but the last time i stopped at the bank in the drive through and it wouldn't re-start , something had to be done .

couldn't find a replacement 12A for a price that i thought was reasonable...so I put in a 1969 GTO 400 and 200R4...
Enjoy the Rx-7 they are a blast with any engine!
