first rx7!
hello everyone, i just bought my first rx7! I'm a mechanic but i feel like this is my first car in high school again! i dont know much about these rotaries at all! but its an 85 with just about 100k on it. its the 12a motor. things in great shape and so far im lovin it! always been a mazda guy (except for the 96 chevy s10 i just traded for this car), but ive always had miatas. so im looking foreward to having some fun with this car and making it my daily driver/weekend drifter.
if anyone has some good advice on mods/upgrades to start with let me know, all its got now is 1/2 h&r lowering springs and a glass pack. like i said its going to be my dd so i dont want to go crazy

welcome.
You will find yourself replacing that glasspack shortly as the heat of the Rotary engine will melt the living daylights out of it.
This car creates it's own parts list as you drive!..lol!

I didn't catch your name mtndew. Welcome regardless. I'm Ron.
Why no crazy on your dd?...Just go insane.
I feel you tho. I had a 93 Nissan hatchback full track build and still insured and registered so I can drive it home after autoX events. Long story short, I got pulled over by CHP not event 5 minutes after leaving the event. He did complete inspection of my car, but was cordial about it and let me go with a warning. I never risk taking my track car out like that ever again. (cool story bro)....NOT.

Yea that's what I was reading about the glass pack, I think I want to replace it with the racing beat power pulse muffler.
As far as going crazy..... I would love to but don't got a lot of extra cash otherwise it would be an all out track car!
And my name's Mike by the way
