SD first fd owner

This is my first fd, well rx7 every. I've been more into building hondas but decided to try something different. Had a built k24 crx that I used for auto cross and hpde and sometimes drag just so I could hit that 11.8 pass NA. I trade the rex for a 93 rx7 with blown turbo.
Here a pic of my last toy

My toy to mess around with on the way home

Has a single turbo conversion but looks to me like a t25 but claim t3, full greddy exhaust and rebuilt motor with a street port with like 20k
I mostly will be using this for auto cross and hpde so any info from fellow member on what I should address to help me out and not have any issues with the car. thanks again Lane

Why would they do a single turbo conversion with a t25? That is probably the same size if not smaller than the stock turbos lawl. A t25 is a hair dryer.

That depends on what your exahust manifold is flanged for. t3 and t4 flanges are shaped differently.

With all things being equal, a T3 will be more restrictive on the top end. I guess it depends on what kind of power you are looking to make. If you are looking for low to mid 300s, and have a responsive turbo, then a T3 would be good for that application. Spend some time in the single turbo forum reading about the differences and what people are using that application for. There is also a thread on single turbo setups, so that will give you a decent idea of the power each application makes.

Good luck...

I was thinking 6266(gt35r) at 15-20 psi on e85 or e98 might add water injection to and aim for mid 400-500ish

So a buddy brought over his holset t3 and I'm positive te manifold is not a t3. I was thinking of removing the flange and have the shop weld on a t3or t4 but don't think it allow enough room on the cold side from hitting the ac lines or lower intake. So thinking I'm have to find a cost alternative manifold now. Can't wait for summer and to get this car done to drive it for once.

thanks guys, still trying to figure out what turbo to go with for my build. Car will be used for mostly auto cross and trips to some road course. would love mid 400 to 500 hp so I'm debating about getting ether a t3 or t4 setup. Turbo would be a 6266 or 5862 in t4 divided .84 ar. I want fast spool and be able to carry the power up top to maybe 8,000? I dont know what safe redline on this cars, it is a street port.
