Finally got an FD, but no Doritos
Hi Everyone,
I just thought I’d introduce myself and my FD.
I’ve promised myself an FD for 13 years so decided to wait for the prices to go up before I did!
I ended up buying this LS2 FD! Now I’m no V8 guy, but I have enough project cars to work on at the moment, so I went the lower maintenance route, also if you’ve ever used a T56 gearbox you’ll know how satisfying every gearchange is so even cruising around is good fun. I know a lot of people hate this conversion but it does work well and this car is rapid.
The cars had quite an interesting history from what I’ve pieced together from the paperwork and staring at the internet. The car was imported into Ireland in 1998, then sold in England. It was bought by a user on here called efiniste who owned to car for a long time and spent a lot of money on it. From what I can work out it went single turbo, with a power FC and Auqamist. Then I have a receipt for an LS2 from Craig at Dyno Torque ( Tyre Torque back then) but not sure of they carried out the conversion. The car was then sold to someone who took it to POD for Jap show a few years a go and won Class F with 12.9. It caught fire at some point due to a split fuel line. Then was sold at auction where the owner I bought it from acquired it. He repaired all the fire damage really well.
If anyone knows any more about this car or has any photos ( it had a private plate for a while ) if you could share them or send them to me that would be awesome, I’m trying to put a chronological history together for it as the paperwork that came with it is substantial and it would be nice to fill the gaps in and find out anything more about it.
Thanks for reading my ramblings.
