MD Finally a possible FD maybe...!?!?!?

Hello,

My name is Sherv, I have been lurking around the forums as a Guest for a few weeks now so I decided to finally join!

So I'm not an RX7 owner...yet!

So here's the story, my wife works for a major insurance company. On a day that I was off work I decided to ride along w/ her to keep her company. So we pulled up to a Tow Lot so she could write an estimate on a car. While she was doing her Job I decided to wander around the lot just looking at all the different cars.

So in the corner of my eye I catch this yellow car, I get closer and its a FD RX7 that has a ton of warning stickers on the back windshield. So I talk to my wife about the car when we're leaving and how I am interested in the car and what is going to happen to the car...

So she informs me that the tow lot owner has the right to claim the title of the car after 45 days of an unpaid Tow bill. So my wife speaks to the owner about the car and he loves her, they have known each other for quite some time now.

Long story Long....(lol) She asks him how much he wants for the car and he tells her just the Tow Bill....so she asks him well how much is that and he said $150 bucks!!!

So here's what I know about the car: It is an FD, yellow original color with different colored fenders/hood. From what I can see it has a front mount intercooler and what looks to be the Greddy EVO exhaust or a Blitz Nur Spec. I have no idea if it runs, i peeked inside the car and it looked like Tan Leather. And since the Tow lot owner does not have the key I have to wait for my wife to get a key made. I have no idea what is under the hood...also have no clue if the engine will turn or what...Kind of exciting because its like a "Box of Chocolates" lol...I really DON'T know what I'm gonna get.

Either way, thought I would share this story, either way I am super excited to more than likely get my hands on a FD finally, something I've wanted for years.

Thanks for reading lol!

Welcome, Sherv!

Nice story. Let's hope you get the car and even better if it runs.

For $150 there is no reason NOT to get it, regardless if the motor works. I hope you get it soon. Keep us updated and post pics soon!

I had a similar story with mine. Make sure you get the title first. It's a pain in the a** trying to register it without it. Also check the vin and make sure it isn't a salvage.

lol Hey everyone, i'm still waiting to hear back from Bob, the Tow Lot owner. I think he is able to request the title now that it has been past 45 days. I am planning on clearing out the Garage to make room for it to sit. My wife still needs to get a key made from Mazda at some point. All of this going on in the midst of my mother in law being diagnosed with Terminal Throat cancer .

So for the time being I am not going to bug my wife about the car until we visit her mom. I will take things one a time with the car, don't want to be insensitive in this time of need and comfort my wife is requiring. BUT, as soon as I get the chance to, I will get some pics and will post them up. I am hoping that by next week at sometime I will have the car, but we'll see

Definitely a fairy tale lol. I am still in shock and hope that everything works out. Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome and encouraging words!
